The ride
Do I drive?
No. Your guide drives a high-clearance Jeep or 4WD SUV the whole way. The roads to Peekaboo, White Pocket and The Wave are deep sand that most rental cars can't handle.
How many people fit in a vehicle?
Our Jeeps carry up to four guests and our 4WD SUVs carry five or six. Bigger groups can book more than one vehicle. Just call us.
Is the ride bumpy?
It's a backcountry ride on sandy, uneven roads, so expect some bounce. For full-day tours, pack foods that sit well on bumpy roads.
Booking & pricing
What's the difference between group and private tours?
Group tours are priced per person and you may share the vehicle with a few other guests. Private tours are priced per vehicle, just for your party, on your schedule.
Is there a minimum for group tours?
Yes. Group pricing needs at least 3 guests. If only 1–2 people are signed up, the tour runs at the private rate. You can also book a private tour and ask us to add others to share the cost if possible.
Are taxes included?
No. All tours are subject to an additional 15% for taxes and fees. Private tours also carry a small gas surcharge.
How do I book?
Book online through our booking calendar, or call or text (435) 334-3877 and we'll set it up for you.
Permits & places
Do I need a permit for The Wave?
Yes. The Wave (Coyote Buttes North) requires a permit from the recreation.gov lottery. We can't get permits for you, but once you have one we'll drive you in and guide the hike.
Do I need a permit for White Pocket or Peekaboo?
No permit is needed for White Pocket or Peekaboo Slot Canyon.
Which tour is easiest?
Group Peekaboo Slot Canyon is our easiest: about 1.5 miles of mostly flat, shaded walking in 2–3 hours. White Pocket is moderate, and The Wave is strenuous.
On the day
What should I bring?
Plenty of water, sunscreen, a hat, sunglasses and closed-toe shoes with good grip. Pack a lunch for full-day tours like White Pocket and The Wave.
Where do tours start?
Tours start in Kanab. We'll confirm your exact meeting spot and time when you book.
Do tours run in bad weather?
Tours run year-round, weather permitting. If conditions aren't safe, we'll reach out to talk through your options.
