AMPARO’S BIO

Bronx-native Amparo the Photog has been privileged to photograph numerous prestigious
events, concerts, and portraits of discerning clients. While Amparo keeps a quite busy calendar
photographing celebrations of love, arts, culture, news, and entertainment, she is renowned for
her high-touch, upbeat energy that she brings to any photography session.
Amparo was inspired early on by her father’s love of photography. Receiving her first camera at
age 8 (a Kodak 110 Film Pocket Camera), Amparo became an avid shutterbug capturing
memories growing up in the concrete jungle. In 1995, she bought her first SLR camera and
began crafting a keen eye and sharp aesthetic. She began shooting professionally in 2001 while
working simultaneously as an executive in Human Resources. With over 20 years of combined
experience in photography and HR, Amparo knew it was time to bring her big vision into focus.
In 2021, she launched Photography by Amparo, a boutique studio specializing in portrait and
lifestyle photography. Wedding and event photography for premiere clients who value quality
and contemporary product offerings takes her around the globe and into many esteemed
publications.
Amparo believes the art to capturing a moment is setting people at ease and allowing them to
be their authentic self. Dedicated to capturing the moments in the life of expressive people,

Guided Photo Excursions  

We will be exploring Utah’s most photogenic locations alongside our knowledgeable guides from  our partner, Coral Cliffs Adventure Tours, who will lead us to the best spots for capturing stunning  images. Utah’s high elevation, clear skies, and arid climate create dramatic lighting conditions that  enhance the beauty of its landscapes. As photographers, this gives us great opportunities to  capture stunning sunrise and sunset scenes, as well as dynamic plays of light and shadow  throughout the day.

Comfortable Lodging  

Unlike most photo tours, lodging is included in the pricing of  this workshop. We have partnered with Coral Cliffs Townhomes to offer a serene and picturesque retreat for workshop participants seeking both comfort and adventure. Nestled amidst the breathtaking red rock landscape of Kanab, Utah, The Coral Cliffs Townhomes feature spacious and beautifully appointed accommodations, with options ranging from cozy one-bedroom units to expansive three-bedroom suites. Each townhome is thoughtfully designed to provide a comfortable and inviting atmosphere, complete with charming southwestern decor. 

Guests can relax and unwind in their private patio or balcony, where they can soak in the majestic views  of the surrounding red rock cliffs and desert landscape. The townhomes also boast fully equipped  kitchens, allowing guests to prepare their own meals and dine al fresco under the desert sky.

Departure for Edmire’s Secret 

Workshop participants will be greeted by a landscape of ethereal beauty and natural  splendor. Towering cliffs, draped in lush vegetation and cascading waterfalls, frame  the entrance to this hidden paradise. A winding trail leads deeper into the heart of  Edmire’s Secret, meandering through dense forests, tranquil streams, and verdant  meadows adorned with vibrant wildflowers. 

As you explore further, the true essence of Edmire’s Secret begins to unfold. Hidden  alcoves reveal pristine pools of crystal-clear water, shimmering in the dappled sunlight  filtering through the canopy above. Moss-covered rocks and ancient trees create an  atmosphere of timeless enchantment, transporting visitors to a realm untouched by  the passage of time.

Peekaboo Canyon Tour  

Peek-a-Boo Canyon aka Peekaboo Gulch, is a stunning slot canyon located in the Grand Staircase Escalante National Monument in southern Utah. This narrow and winding canyon offers a  mesmerizing display of sculpted sandstone walls, vibrant colors, and intriguing formations, making  it a popular destination for photographers. 

As you venture into Peek-a-Boo Canyon, you will immediately be immersed in a world of natural  beauty and wonder. The canyon walls rise high above, forming narrow passageways that twist and  turn in every direction. Sunlight filters through narrow openings in the canyon ceiling, casting a  warm glow on the smooth sandstone walls and illuminating the vibrant hues of red, orange, pink,  and yellow.
